If you know a great designer, then you know how insane they are/can be.

It’s something that I’ve come to consider a fact. All great designers are not normal by any usual means of the word. They’re neurotic, awkward, and often don’t fit into the puzzle of society without several slams of the fist and concerned looks by those near.

Enjoying finding solutions and solving problems while also creating aesthetically pleasing and meaningful visuals isn’t something that just anyone can do, or wants to do. There is definitely a general sense of nerd culture amongst great designers, whether they want to admit it or not. It’s a rather small club of people and a rather small and precise amount of things they care about when it comes to what they do. This is the same for many professions, but design is one of those that to be great at, you don’t just do it, you live it.

Perhaps this is just me trying to okay with my odd behavior and telling myself that when I become a great designer, being a bit weird is just part of it. However, I really believe if you’re not off, you’ll never be on as a designer.
