Capital City Chess Club

Identity Design

Lincoln, Nebraska's first and only city-wide chess club was founded in 2024 by Chris Etheridge and hosts two weekly sessions as well as monthly USCF-rated tournaments.

As requested by the club, the identity is inspired by the City of Lincoln Flag deisgned by Ed Mejia, incorporating not only the art deco inspired visual, but also the official colors.

The identity builds on the flag, while also incorporating the letter 'C' four times, and was designed to be used in all official club communications including social media posts, and tournament announcements/details.

Multiple alternate color schemes were created to show the flexibility of the identity as it relates to its usage for various events around the city, whehter it's partnering with colleges, holding themed tournaments, or focusing on the two primary locations of its weekly club events (Meadowlark and The Post).
